Rangers Dinged Up As They Prepare To Resume Play
Derek Dorsett was in a full contact jersey at practice today but Marc Staal remains out. That is the third straight practice he’s missed as NYR get set to play Thursday.Â
Andrew Gross of NJ.com said he has not been ruled out against the Blackhawks just yet. Dorsett is also no sure thing according to Alain Vigneault, but all signs point to his availability. As for Staal, he is day-to-day with back spasms.
Derek Dorsett encouraged by how he’s feeling, today was best he’s felt. Optimistic he’ll play Thursday. Decision will be made tomorrow.

IS LUNDQVIST READY? The Rangers head coach has not named a goalie for tomorrow. He said he will speak with Henrik and see how he feels. My first guess is time off is in order since Lundqvist played the maximum games possible at the Olympics. Fully prepare yourself for a Cam Talbot start.
AV says he has not named a goalie yet for Thursday, wants to talk to Lundqvist first, “get a feel for where he is, mentally and physically.”

REPLACING ZUCC
Mats Zuccarello will miss at least 7 games with his hand injury. Dorsett will certainly find himself on the third line with Brassard and Pouliot. We should also expect a JT Miller call up again as the extra forward.
THE TRADE DEADLINE
Listen to these names: Ryan Callahan, Dan Girardi, Brian Boyle and Anton Stralman. All have something in common, they become UFA’s on July 1st and all are available for the right price. We shall see.
FTR is prepping a new feature on the Cally Crisis which should be available soon.
