Rangers expected to announce Quinn hiring on Monday
Multiple sources have stated that David Quinn’s hiring is all but done barring any major issue as the contract is finalized. His hiring is expected to be announced on Monday when Jeff Gorton returns from the WC.
Told by two sources that Quinn has signaled that he wants the Ranger job and that barring a negotiating breakdown, it’s his. Gorton due back Monday from Denmark.

NYR GM Jeff Gorton is at World Championships in Denmark, so nothing is believed to be imminent but Quinn has already interviewed. For now, he appears to be a primary target.

As @FriedgeHNIC & @TSNBobMcKenzie reported, #BUHockey Head Coach David Quinn the leading candidate for #NYRangers job. I’m being told tonight, Quinn is ready to accept position. Unless there’s a drastic change of heart from one or both sides, announcement likely next week.

Of the potential rookie head coaches, Quinn has a lot of the right tools to be a fit in NYC. Proven player development track record, pro experience, right demeanor/approach to handle pressure and scrutiny, good rapport with players. Won’t flinch in tough job. https://t.co/xVZwu7jdfJ
