Rangers to Give First Round Picks Long Looks at Training Camp
Though it may not be such a surprise, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault has said that the team will give Lias Andersson and Filip Chytil a realistic chance at making the 2017-18 roster.
AV said 1st rd picks Lias Andersson, who will play tonight, and Filip Chytil are both realistic candidates to make the @NYRangers roster.

The @NYRangers haven't had an 18 yo play a reg season game since Dan Blackburn in '01. Lias Andersson and/or Filip Chytil could change that.

Normally giving your two first-round picks a shot at making the roster isn’t such a big deal. But considering the Rangers roster right now, with their issues down the middle and with both players being just 18-years-old, this may just be coachspeak. Whether or not either of these guys makes the team, both have looked good for their respective countries and European league teams. Hopefully, they continue that level of play during training camp and give the coaching staff a lot to think about.
