When discussing the captaincy, or current lack thereof, Quinn said he would wait to see how things play out before determining who would be the 28th captain in Rangers history.
Quinn, in more detail, on his captain(s): "I think a captain usually emerges from a group, especially when there’s been a coaching change… I think the captaincy will take care of itself, one way or the other."

Quinn is happy that there is going to be a lot of fierce competition for roster spots, saying that there is nothing better.
Quinn on battles for spots in the roster. “I think it’s a great thing. There’s nothing like competition. There’s obviously spots open. Good play will reward further play.” #NYR

Finally, on his relationships with some of his new “co-workers”, Quinn said that he has become fast friends with assistant coach Lindy Ruff. In spite of what some people think about Ruff, his knowledge of the game and experience as a head coach will help Quinn as he continues to get adjusted to being a full-time bench boss in the NHL. Quinn also discussed Henrik Lundqvist and said that he wants to be around for this organizational transition.
Quinn went to Sweden this summer to meet a few of the Rangers vets, including Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist is “in incredible shape. He’s a great competitor and we’re lucky to have him.” He says Lundqvist wants to be part of the turnaround.
