Rangers interviewed Kevin Dineen for Pack coaching vacancy
According to a local reporter in Hartford, the Rangers spoke with former NHL head coach, Kevin Dineen about the open position with the Wolf Pack.
The report is interesting on two fronts:
- The Rangers are obviously interested in coaches with NHL experience. Dineen coached the Florida Panthers from 2011 to 2014 with a record of 56 wins, 62 losses, and 28 OT losses. It should also be noted that in his first season behind the bench the Panthers won the division.
- While they spoke with him, they did not offer him the position and he moved on. This is consistent with our earlier reporting this week that the process continues.
