Mike Reilly has teams salivating for his services. After telling the Columbus Blue Jackets that he will test the free agent market, as many as 9 teams have tried to land his services. Today, his list will be narrowed to 3 or 4 teams and the Rangers could be on the outside looking in.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said on a Calgary radio show that he will shrink the list today and highlighted two teams as leading candidates for the prized prospect.

[su_quote cite=”Today’s Slapshot” url=”https://www.todaysslapshot.com/from-the-ice/friedman-blackhawks-legitimate-threat-for-reilly/”]”I will tell you, you know who everybody thinks is going to get him – if it’s not Minnesota, it’s going to be Chicago.” Elliotte Friedman[/su_quote]

Friedman speculates that the Blackhawks can point to their defense today to prove that he would have a legit chance of playing next season. Currently, Chicago is playing in the Final and heavily relying on 4 defenseman. Roszival and Timonen are no longer spring chickens so a changing of the guard is at hand.
