To Chicago Blackhawks: defenseman Andy Welinski, a conditional second round pick in 2023, a fourth round pick in 2024 ( the second round pick can become a first in either 2024 or 2025 if the Rangers advance to the ECF)

Patrick Kane to debut on Thursday
General Manager Chris Drury held a brief call with the media to discuss bringing Kane to Broadway.
“I think Patrick recognized it was a good fit for him and it’s a good fit for us,” Drury said. “We’re certainly excited that he wanted to be traded and that it was to the New York Rangers.”
Kane, 34, joins the Rangers with 16 goals and 45 points in 54 games to date. The three-time Stanley Cup winner has registered 1,225 points in 1,161 regular season-games and is currently the third highest leading scorer among U.S. Born players. He’s just seven points behind Phil Housley for second, with Mike Modano atop the list with 1,374 points.
The Rangers say he will make his debut on Thursday at home against the Ottawa Senators.
Kane says goodbye to Chicago
Kane spent 15 years with the Blackhawks and said goodbye in an emotional social media post.
“There simply are no words to express my family’s love and appreciation for the Blackhawks organization, my teammates, this city and the greatest fans in the world welcoming me here since being drafted in 2007,” he wrote. “Thank you for giving me a chance and supporting me like your own through 1,297 games played in the most iconic sweater, including 3 Stanley Cups and thousands of memories to last a lifetime.”
In addition to the personal note, Kane released a statement via the Blackhawks to the fans.
“This has been an emotional time for me and my family, but I feel this decision puts me in the best spot to immediately win another Stanley Cup,” he said. “I look forward to this next step in my career and will forever be appreciative for all I have received from the Blackhawks and Chicago.”
