Rangers primed to keep the good times rolling in Ottawa
Alexander Georgiev will be in net tonight as the Rangers face-off against the Ottawa Senators in Canada’s capital. Craig Anderson is expected to start for the Sens after a shaky opening against the high-octane offense of the Maple Leafs.
The Senators
Ottawa took major hits to its roster as they are no longer with Mark Stone, and Matt Duchene. While they can still score some goals, they give up a ton and that will benefit the NY Rangers offense.
Key Players: Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot
If the Rangers can keep those two in check, this should be a cake walk for the Blueshirts. Ottawa also took 5 penalties in their game against the Leafs and if they do that against the Rangers it should be an offensive feast for Panarin, Trouba, and Zibanejad.
The Rangers
David Quinn is juggling his defensive pairings for this game in order to match a veteran with a rookie. Brady Skjei will pair with Adam Fox and Jacob Trouba will match up with Libor Hajek. This was done in the third period against Winnipeg and seemed to settle both rookies.
Another thing to watch is the playing time of Lias Andersson. Quinn admitted he lost the sophomore center late in the game and said he wouldn’t do that again.
Bold Prediction: Rangers win this one going away 6-1. Panarin scores twice and Kakko gets his first NHL goal.
