Rangers prospect Vitali Kravtsov coming back to North America
News is breaking from Russia and picked up from various outlets that Vitali Kravtsov is leaving the KHL and coming back to North America. It is expected that he will report to Hartford and work his way on to the Rangers lineup later this year.
Vitali Says Goodbye
Kravtsov said goodbye to Traktor in a long Instagram post.
Gorton Took Control
Jeff Gorton was concerned over what was happening with Vitali Kravtsov over in Russia before his coach claimed that he came back from North America “broken”. Per the NY Post, Gorton had already reached out to his agent to facilitate a return to Hartford.
“He felt it was in his best interest to go back, and we allowed him to do that. I will say we’ve had a number of conversations with his agent recently just to revisit what’s best for him right now,” Gorton said Monday. “I’ll leave it to the conversations I’m having behind the scenes right now, and we’ll have to make a decision. Obviously we want the guy to play. If he’s not playing enough, then yes, we’d like to control his ice time a little bit.”

So now the Rangers are back to controlling Vitali’s ice time and development and it is the best outcome possible.
