Today the Rangers announced the re-signings of defenseman, Mat Bodie and forward, Nicklas Jensen. The fact that Jensen would need to clear waivers if he is gets sent down to Hartford might mean the end of Tanner Glass on the Rangers’ big club roster.

Currently, you can bury 950K of a player’s salary in the AHL. This means that only 500K of Glass’ 1.45M cap hit will be charged on the books. Here’s a quick look at the Rangers’ roster without Glass and the RFA’s signed. (Oscar Lindberg is hurt to start the season)

If Jensen plays well, his roster spot would almost certainly come at the expense of Tanner Glass.

“I am so excited for training camp because I do see a good opportunity there for me,” Jensen told BlueshirtsUnited.com. “My goal is to make the Rangers right out of camp, to impress the coaches and have them trust me.”
