Rangers recall Connor Mackey; latest on Ryan Lindgren and Filip Chytil
The New York Rangers have recalled defenseman Connor Mackey. This move coincides with Jacob Trouba receiving a two-game suspension on Saturday as the team gets set to take on the Ottawa Senators.
Mackey, 27, has eight points (two goals, six assists) in 28 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season.
Trouba had a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety after elbowing Pavel Dorofeyev in Friday’s 5-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Although no penalty was called on the play at 18:08 of the second period, Dorofeyev left the game and didn’t return.

Latest on Ryan Lindgren and Filip Chytil
Also during the game, defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an upper-body injury in the first period and did not return. Head coach Peter Laviolette provided no substantial update and listed him day-to-day after the match was over. According to Mollie Walker of the NY Post, he’s a game-time decision.
Lindgren, 25, has recorded two goals and five assists in 47 games this season. If he’s unable to play, it would mean both Zac Jones and Mackey will be in the lineup.
Additionally, Filip Chytil went down at Friday’s optional morning skate and had to be helped off the ice. He was working his way back from a suspected concussion, but now there’s genuine concern for his longterm health.
“Fil suffered a setback,” Laviolette said. “He was evaluated this morning and will continue to be evaluated. He’s at his house here in New York.”
Chytil, 24, has been out since Nov. 2 and has six assists in 10 games this season.
