After Brett Howden’s awkward collision in Sunday night’s victory over the Sabres, and with Ryan Spooner nursing a lower body injury, a call up from Hartford was imminent. Andersson, who is averaging almost a point-per-game in Hartford is the logical guy to come into David Quinn’s lineup. Andersson has a lot of hype surrounding him as the Rangers selected him with the draft pick acquired in the Derek Stepan trade with Arizona. This could be his chance to show the Rangers coaching staff and management he deserves to stay on Broadway.
The Rangers have recalled Lias Andersson from Hartford, likely because of Brett Howden’s injury, which could prevent him from playing against Montreal tomorrow.
