Rangers relief; Igor Shesterkin is day to day with a mild groin strain
If you were wondering what that sound was just now, it’s the collective sigh of relief in Rangerstown.
It appears for as bad as the injury looked last night, Igor Shesterkin is listed as day-to-day with a mild groin strain.
Rangers dodge a bullet
Shesterkin made a sudden move from his left to right in order to make a save and went down in immense pain. The goaltender lay clenching his blocker hand and then grabbing for his leg.
The pain was so intolerable that Shesterkin needed two people to lift him off the ice and carry him to the locker room. After practice today, David Quinn eluded to the fact it may not be that serious but was waiting on more word from the doctors.
PHEW!
