Rangers Roundup: Andersson snaps and Trouble in Traktor for Kravtsov
Two Rangers prospects are on opposite ends of the spectrum this morning. Lias Andersson snapped out of a slump with a 2 goal, 3 point performance last night while Kravtsov has been benched and sent down to a farm team.
Andersson’s big night
Lias Andersson was struggling but had a big game in a 5-2 win for the Wolf Pack last night.
Although Andersson is still taking unnecessary penalties, he looked engaged and very active with and without the puck. Let’s see if he can keep it going to today against Providence.
Trouble in Traktor
Vitali Kravtsov has been benched and now sent down to Traktor’s minor league affiliate in the VHL. This is a big deal, so much so that Stephen Valiquette tweeted this.
The Rangers analyst played in the KHL and stated that the VHL is like playing on the moon. This is certainly difficult to understand, but has nothing to do with the Rangers because Kravtsov made the decision to go back to the KHL this season. Had he stayed with Hartford, I think it ultimately would have been better for his development. As they say, hindsight is 20/20.
