Rangers Roundup: Blueshirts in World Cup Action, Traverse City news and more
Here’s the latest on the Rangers in the news:
World Cup Action
While the tournament doesn’t officially start until this Saturday, we’ve seen some Rangers in action during the warmup games.
Here’s what you need to know:
Henrik Lundqvist (Sweden) got blitzed by Mats Zuccarello’s Team Europe yesterday and was pulled. Zucc assisted on the Thomas Vanek’s goal in the early third period. That was Hank’s 4th goal against, he was pulled after the fifth.
Lundqvist wasn’t thrilled to say the least saying “I didn’t play well, that’s it.” Henrik is 1-1 in prelims with a bloated 4.49 GAA. Zuccarello has 3 assists in 3 games and is looking sharp.
Over on Team North America, J.T. Miller has played 2 out of 3 games and hasn’t really found a groove. He has no points and is a plus 1 so far. The best news is the excellent play of both Ryan McDonagh (3GP – 1G – 1A) and Derek Stepan (3GP – 2G -2A). So far, they are receiving rave reviews.
