Rangers Roundup: Brett Berard named to US WJC team, 2020 draft picks talk about getting picked, and more
U.S.A. Hockey announced its roster for the WJC and 2020 NYR draft pick Brett Berard has made the team. The 18 year-old forward was a 5th round selection for the Blueshirts.
NYR prospect, Brett Berard
The 5-9″ Rhode Island native is committed to play at Providence College this season. Berard played 41 games with the U.S. National U18 Team last season. The winger scored 16 goals and 34 points with 46 penalty minutes.
He has a knack for clutch scoring as he led the team with four game-winning goals. Berard finished last year tied for second on the team in goals and ranked third in points.
New York Rangers 2020 draft picks talk excitement of being selected
The Rangers posted a montage of clips of their 2020 draft picks talking about being chosen by NY. All nine selections, including top prospects Alexis Lafreniere and Braden Schneider took part in the video below.

Eli Manning posted a photo of his son playing ice hockey. “You can add hockey dad to my resume,” he tweeted. New York Rangers social media was quick to respond with “we’re here for this”.
