Buchnevich Back In January
Larry Brooks of the NY Post reported the following today:
Buchnevich, whom The Post previously reported has a protruding disc, will skate every other day for the foreseeable future before ramping up the process. The rookie winger has played in only 10 games thus far in which he has recorded eight points (4-4). He has been sidelined on two separate occasions while going through rehab and following a program to strengthen his core.
Brooks also noted that Mika Zibanejad is scheduled for a mid-January return.
Nash’s Pain
Alain Vigneault told reporters today that Rick Nash will likely miss the next 3 games. Per Newsday, “He won’t play these next two games and then we come back from the Christmas break (Dec. 27) and it’s just a morning skate, so it’s safe to safe at this time that he probably won’t play the next three games and after that it’s day to day.”
The coach believes he injured his groin in OT. He also stated that the fact that it’s Nash’s opposite groin muscle it was likely due to him compensating for the original injury. AV also took a shot at the NHL by blaming the “lovely schedule” the Rangers have had.
Metro Battle
The Rangers sit atop the Metro division with 47 points to the Penguins 45. This would be a huge win for the Rangers who can go up 4 points over the division rival who have 2 games in hand.
