Rangers Roundup: Chris Drury making changes to scouting department, Braden Schneider gets assist at WC, and more
The New York Rangers summer of change is continuing. According to the team’s website and confirmed by Larry Brooks, Nick Bobrov is no longer with the organization.
Chris Drury making changes to scouting department
Bobrov served as the head of European scouting for the last six years prior to his dismissal. He’s responsible for helping with the excellent selections of Vitali Kravtsov and Nils Lundkvist, but also Lias Andersson.
The Post has learned that Bobrov, who served in that position for six years, was dismissed by Chris Drury in the wake of his ascension to the dual post as the club’s president-general manager.

Per Brooks, Drury will run the draft with Chris Morehouse who is the director of North American scouting. This is a seismic shift in the Rangers draft philosophy who have gone heavy with Europeans in recent years. Another significant directional difference coming to light with Drury in charge.
Braden Schneider gets assist at World Championship
Braden Schneider, the Rangers second first round pick in last year’s draft has notched an assist. This is his first point in the tournament.
