Rangers Roundup: JD Intro, Thoughts on Panarin and Ruff’s future

JD Introduced at MSG
John Davidson was emotional today as he was officially introduced to the press and fans. In truth, not many needed the introduction but it was still a heartwarming return for the former Rangers goalie and broadcaster.
There wasn’t any jaw dropping revelations just reaffirmations that Jeff Gorton and David Quinn are on the right path. It was also nice to hear that owner James Dolan will give JD whatever he needs to get the job done.
Finally, JD told ESPN Radio that they will gladly take whomever the Devils don’t choose between Hughes and Kakko.

Ruff’s Future?
We recently wrote about Lindy Ruff and the Rangers likely to part ways and noted that he interviewed for the vacancy in Buffalo. It is also likely that Ruff may have spoken to the Edmonton Oilers who will be looking to make a coaching change this offseason as well. Reports have it that Dave Tippett is the leading candidate there and could be announced in the next few days. Stay tuned.
