Rangers Roundup: Klein broke his arm, Hayes back in the middle and Lundqvist update
The Rangers practiced today and we learned that Kevin Klein‘s “mysterious” upper body injury is actually a broken forearm.
Kevin Klein (broken left arm) said he knew right away something was wrong, couldn’t grip stick. Hopes to resume skating next week.

Klein told reporters that he couldn’t grip his stick and knew immediately something was wrong. His timetable to return is still 3 to 4 weeks from original injury date.Â
Big Kid in The Middle
Kevin Hayes will return to center with Carl Hagelin and Jesper Fast. JT Miller now gets the chance we originally thought he would on a second line with Derick Brassard and Mats Zuccarello. Â
NYR prax lines: 20-21-61; 36-16-10; 62-13-19; 15-28-45. Thinking Talbot will start vs Canes. More to come — Steve Zipay (@stevezipay) March 20, 2015
Alain Vigneault said that this gives the Rangers 3 lines that hopefully will provide offense. The Rangers certainly looked like they only had two offensive threats out there against Chicago so this should balance them out.
Lundqvist is Having Baby #2
Henrik Lundqvist did not practice today so he can be with his wife as she gives birth to their second child. First off, congrats on the new addition!
As for playing? This will likely set Henrik back as AV said he would not alter the Rangers practice schedule. The coach cited “the bigger picture” when asked. With only 1 full practice scheduled before the Kings game on Tuesday, expect the King back by next weekend.
