Here’s the latest news and notes from around the web concerning the NY Rangers.

Chris Kreider Makes a Promise

Kreider is on a mission,”to show up and perform every single day”. The promise of consistency is what every fan of the Blueshirts has been hoping for since they first laid eyes on #20.

He has the size, speed and shot to be a force in the NHL. There have been games where he has been an absolute monster for the opposition to handle. One game I recall that stands out was his hat-trick performance against the Canucks, spoiling John Tortorella’s return to the Garden. They simply had no answer for him.

That said, the number of games where you barely noticed him were far to high. Admit it, how many times have you said, “where’s Kreider?” He needs to take the next step and become more consistent.

[su_quote cite=”Kreider to BSU” url=”https://www.blueshirtsunited.com/article/committed-kreider-looking-play-his-strengths-year”]”I just want to be a bully, hammering my game home on a consistent basis, simplify my game and rely on the physical attributes I have, that’s the player I want to be,” stated Kreider. “In my mind there are not a lot of players like that in the league, so I want to be that player on a nightly basis. I want to be really hard to play against.”[/su_quote]

Maxim Lapierre PTO

Let me first say when I heard that 31 year old Maxim Lapierre was getting a PTO I didn’t understand why. Then I recalled that Alain Vigneault coached him in Vancouver and I simply shook my head. I got sick to my stomach as there is no reason for him to be here with all the signings we’ve made so far.

My nerves were calmed when Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record tweeted this:

As long as that is the case….fine. Should he for some odd reason take even Josh Jooris’ spot I will flip.
