Rangers Roundup: Latest rumors on Panarin, Zuccarello, and Hayes
The latest buzz around the league and New York Rangers.
Panarin Watch
Former coach and now hockey analyst Doug MacLean noted recently that as Artemi Panarin gets set to meet with the Jackets this month, if he gets to UFA status in July there’s one team he keeps hearing as a landing spot.
Dreger on the Rangers
Darren Dreger dropped a few Rangers tidbits during the NBC Broadcast this week.
On the NYR trading Zuccarello: “And for the obvious reasons. He’s a veteran forward who is going to augment what some teams may have in their push to contend for a Stanley Cup. But we’re not uncovering a deep, dark secret here when we look at the players who are in play for the New York Rangers – they’re all with expiring contracts.”

On Hayes: “The New York Rangers haven’t decided officially on whether they are going to trade Kevin Hayes because Hayes is valuable to the New York Rangers now and in the future. But it’s all dependent on what is being offered, the interest that’s going to continue to grow in Hayes and other players leading up to the 25th trade deadline. So I think they’re going to gauge that interest, and if the interest is there and it’s a deal that makes sense, they’ll move Kevin Hayes. Otherwise they’ll explore the possibility of extending his contract.”
