Rangers Roundup: Lias under pressure, Puljujarvi, and Gretzky’s bum

Blueshirts news and notes.

Lias under pressure

Greg McKegg made his way into the lineup last night and scored a tenacious shorthanded goal. So far in every game McKegg has played this season his speed and forechecking standout. This will certainly put some pressure on Lias Andersson when he returns to the lineup.

In his last game against Ottawa, Andersson surely looked lost and had trouble keeping up with the Sens. The Rangers 20 year old prospect needs to establish what his game is and be consistent with it. Serious question to our readers, describe who Lias is as a player? I bet you will have some trouble with that.

Puljujarvi

The rumors surrounding Jesse Puljujarvi will not stop until he is traded or the Oilers let the deadline to sign him expire. However, here are a few interesting tweets from a prospect expert you will find interesting.

I don’t agree with Steve’s pessimistic view of the Rangers, but I do find scouting reports of Puljujarvi making risky plays, and being poor defensively concerning. At the same time, in a 3rd line role he could thrive here under David Quinn’s tutelage. The real plus side is that it will help Kaapo Kakko to have at least one fellow countrymen on the team. You can’t understand how valuable that is.

The Great Buttzky!

I attended the Rangers game last night thanks to a potential future partner in the MSG suites. This time I took the time to look around and found this. I felt the “Greatness”.

Kravtsov’s Lips

One quick note, Vitali Kravtsov either took a stick or a puck to his mouth and posted this ghastly photo on Instagram. According to translators, it reads “pumping up my lips the cheap and fast way”.
