Rangers Roundup: Messier’s Guarantee and more about why Carolina voted “No”
On this Memorial Day we want to remember the Fallen of this great Nation. Thank you for your sacrifice. Freedom is not free. Now to a few updates and a blast from the past.
Hurricanes Explain Why they Voted No
On a recent Zoom with NHL media, Carolina’s player rep Jordan Martinook explained why the team voted against the 24 team format. “For where we were and where our team thought we could get to, it hurts our odds.” Martinook explained. Fair enough.
For all intents and purposes the Canes had a good shot to make with 14 games remaining. They only had a one point edge on the Islanders and were tied with the Blue Jackets with a 2 game edge on Columbus. Furthermore, they were only up two points on the Rangers albeit with a 2 game advantage and 3 points up on Florida with same amount of games played. So excuse me, if I laugh at Carolina as if they locked up a playoff spot.
Can you imagine how Jacob Trouba was reacting in his house listening to Martinook whine about fairness.
