Rangers Roundup: Prospect Jayden Grubbe available for trade, and more
The New York Rangers are apparently shopping around prospect forward Jayden Grubbe before the June 1 deadline to sign draft picks. According to Frank Seravalli, the Rangers have let the league know that he’s available.
When the Rangers traded away Jimmy Vesey to the Buffalo Sabres in 2019, they received a third-round pick in 2021 as compensation which they used to select Grubbe.

Grubbe, 20, was the 65th overall selection in 2019 and plays for the Red Deer Rebels in the WHL. This past season, he recorded 67 points in 64 games and added another 10 points in 5 postseason matches.
Per the website Elite Prospects scouting report, they state the 6-3, 203 lbs center is very good at transitioning from defense to offense.
Jimmy Vesey nominated for Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy
Speaking of Vesey, he’s been nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy which is awarded to the player that best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication.
Each local chapter of the PHWA provided their nominations and the top three will be considered finalists with the award winner being announced during the Stanley Cup Final.
Vesey, 29, has recorded 11 goals and 25 points in 80 games this season for the Blueshirts.
In January, President and General Manager Chris Drury announced a two-year extension after he turned a PTO into a one-year deal in camp. The AAV is $800,000 per CapFriendly.
