Rangers Roundup: Sather stepping down, draft watch, and more

Latest on the New York Rangers.

Slats stepping down?

Rumors are swirling that Glen Sather is about to step down as the Rangers President.

This is interesting news but it isn’t the first time rumors of his retirement came out. Back in March of 2014, the hockey world was buzzing with such talk that turned out to be untrue. Now here we are 5 years laters and the 75 year old Sather may be ready to step down.

If this does happen, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility for Jeff Gorton to assume the President role along with his GM duties.

Draft Lottery Watch

The ping pong balls will be activated and picked Tuesday of next week to see where the Rangers will pick. Here is the latest lottery watch.

By the looks of it, the Rangers have a great chance at 5th and an outside shot at 3rd overall before the select ping pong balls.
