Rangers Rumblings: Lundqvist’s huddle, Zucc’s future and Dan Boyle vs. the Hockey Gods

The Rangers haven’t played since a 6-3 drubbing on Monday and that’s allowed for a lot of rumblings and grumblings in Rangerstown.
“I AM HENRIK LUNDQVIST”
An interesting tidbit came out of practice yesterday. Henrik Lundqvist grabbed his defense and had a pow-wow with the men charged with clearing the crease and limiting chances in front.
Most intriguing part of #NYR prax was Lundqvist calling huddle with d-men at end to discuss “details of the game” & “how we talk on the ice”

Now, let’s get this straight – this isn’t the speech from Braveheart, it was something to tighten up the mess in front and just getting everyone on the same page. Lundqvist told the NY POST: “When you have extra little days like this, that’s what you do — you try to look at the bigger picture and how we play, and also the small details and you try to improve.”
Mats Zuccarello’s Future in Blue

Norway VG’s Oystein Jarlsbo believes that this could be Zucc’s last season on Broadway. He cites while the Rangers current deal of 3.5M for year worked for both sides this season, Zucc’s demand of over 5M per may be not be in the cards for Glen Sather and the Blueshirts. Mat’s Zuccarello said, “I’m on here now” in his native Norwegian. The translated article can be found here.

So Dan “Perseus” Boyle feels he has angered the Hockey Gods on Mount Pucklympus.
Dan Boyle: “I think the hockey gods are not happy I signed here…I don’t know if they’re Islander fans or Detroit fans…” #Isles #NYR

Dan Boyle in less than two months has suffered a broken hand and a mumps scare.
The full quote was:
“I don’t know if [the hockey gods] are Islander fans or Detroit fans or what, but they’re definitely not happy with me signing here. I’ve played, with playoffs, 1,100-plus games and I’ve never missed a game because of the flu, so pretty strange. Pretty strange season all together.”
Boyle also doesn’t know what he had, but it kicked his behind pretty good.
