The Rangers Russian Rocket is coming! Buchnevich signs 3 year deal
The jolt the Rangers need is on his way to NY. The young and skilled Russian has signed a 3 year entry level deal at 925K per and should be penned into the starting lineup right now.
Confirmed: Buchnevich gets standard entry-level, $925,000 per for three years

At 21, Buchnevich may still have some filling out to do on his current 6’2″ and 175 lbs frame but he should be ready to play. He can skate, set up plays and score…anything you could want in a potential star forward but how quickly will he get there?
One issue is his inability to speak English, this has led many to speculate the Rangers will look to bring in another Russian player to help him transition. On the short list of UFA’s that might make sense are Viktor Tikhonov and Nikita Nikitin.
Edmonton’s 29 year old defenseman, Nikitin is a UFA but will likely be too expensive and Arizona’s 28 year old forward, Tikhonov is not very good but there aren’t many Russian UFA options out there. Will the Rangers try and trade for one? It will be interesting this summer.
For now, the Rangers most prized prospect forward since…eh, Anthony Duclair (too soon?) is signed and on the way.
