Rangers Roundup: Ryan Reaves addresses Canes bull, plus Game 5 details, and more

The New York Rangers are focused on winning Game 4 of their best-of-seven series against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Of course, they have already put the Hurricanes on notice for the shenanigans they pulled at the end of Game 3 when Max Domi took a cheap shot at Ryan Lindgren.
“I wasn’t happy with the bullshit at the end of the game they initiated,” Gallant explained. “We didn’t do that when the games were close. They want to put their guys on that’s fine. If they want to play like that we’ve got the guys that can match that.
“They’re not sending any message. We got the guy that can handle all their guys if we want to. We didn’t do it like that, but Domi took a cheap shot at our defenseman. You got a long memory in this. You think about things, like I said, it might be on the other foot someday.”
The guy (Ryan Reaves) speaks
Ryan Reaves has only had three fighting majors this season and it’s not for a lack of willingness on his part. It’s because guys simply don’t want to take one of the NHL’s top heavyweights.
On Monday, the 35 year-old enforcer and heavy hitter weighed in on the Carolina Bulls–t his head coach was talking about.
“It’s going to happen in playoff games,” Reaves said. “Guys feel a little braver because they know scrums like that aren’t going to result in anything. I wish I was a little quicker to the scrum and grabbed him first, that’s for sure.”
When Reaves was asked specifically about Domi and the yapping by Tony DeAngelo meant they could be targeted for more physical play, he paused before answering.
“I don’t want to say anything stupid here,” Reaves laughed. “You never want to see a guy chirping your bench. I wish I would’ve seen that but I was on the ice for the Domi-Lindgren thing. I’m sure guys aren’t going to shy away from finishing checks on those guys. But there is going to be a little added nastiness when a specific player does something.”
Looks like Domi and DeAngelo better have their head on a swivel as they say.
