Meskanen is coming off of his best year as a professional in Finland, with his 44 points (24G, 20A) making him the top statistical player 22 years or younger in Liiga.
Meskanen posted 13 multi-point games in 2017-18. He ranked third in Liiga in goals, tied for sixth in power play goals (nine), tied for eighth in the league (min. 20 games played) in points per game (0.92), and tied for 15th in the league in points in 2017-18.

Like yesterday’s signing of Swedish forward Michael Lindqvist, Jeff Gorton is clearly focusing on bringing in young, right-handed forwards with “a nose for the net.” With Lindqvist and Meskanen, the Rangers have added talented pieces to their evolving club.
