Rangers Will Get To Emery In Game 1
Ray Emery will get the call for the Flyers with Steve Mason unavailable for game 1. If stats mean anything the Rangers will pounce on him. In Emery’s last 3 games for Philly he has recorded save percentages of 85.7, 86.7 and 90.2 resulting in 2 losses and an OT win.
#Flyers head coach Craig Berube announced that G Steve Mason is out for Game 1 & Ray Emery will start.

For the season, Emery has played 28 games and has a regular season save percentage of 90.3%. This is a far cry from last season’s 92.2% for the Chicago Blackhawks. However, in 5 on 5 play his percentage gets a 1.5 point uptick.
Now, Emery’s numbers don’t sound overly terrible, but when you look across the way, Lundqvist is looking dominant. For the year, Henrik has a 92.1 save percentage with a 93% 5 on 5. Not that big of a difference until you look at how he has performed in April.
4/1 Â NYR 3 v VAN 1 (97.1%)
4/3 Â NYR 2 v COL 3 – SO (94.6%)
4/5 Â NYR 2 v OTT 3 (91.2%)
4/8 Â NYR 4 v CAR 1 (96.4%)
4/10 NYR 2 v BUF 1 (95.8%)
Those numbers really show the difference in net and why the Rangers have the clear advantage.
