Report: Brian Boyle Going To Free Agency (aka: Bye Bye Boyle)
It’s becoming very obvious that the “NEW” in New York Rangers will have a different meaning come July1st. Brian Boyle’s agent has told the NYDN that he will test the market.
Brian Boyle’s agent told The Daily News this morning the #NYR forward is likely headed to free agency.

That means a desperate team with the hopes that Brian Boyle can help get their team to the Stanley Cup, will give him 3-5 years at 3.5 million per.
It also spells doom for the Rangers in trying to retain him, as well as Anton Stralman, Benoit Pouliot and possibly Dominic Moore who are all up for raises. NY finished the season walking away with the need for a number 1 center. Just a couple of weeks later, they have much more than that to fill.
The biggest thing for the Blueshirts tonight will be the announcement of the cap for next year. If it is less than the 71 million most were forecasting, the Rangers and a slew of other teams will be in a mad scramble to field a competitive team.
Trades, buyouts, free agents contracts and a whole lot of craziness is just getting underway.
