Report: Rangers Still A Possibility For Karlsson
According to a report from David Pagnotta, the Rangers are still a possible landing spot for all-star defenseman Erik Karlsson.
On Karlsson chatter: As mentioned earlier this week and as of then, told there are 3 teams (VGK, NYR & ?) speaking to Sens about Karlsson/Ryan combo. Roughly 6-7 others on Karlsson, alone. Believe COL & TB have had talks on Karlsson.

The Rangers definitely have the cap room to add both Karlsson and teammate Bobby Ryan. Ryan still has four years left on his current deal at $7.25 million AAV. That is a lot of money to commit to a player that has declined significantly in recent seasons. Acquiring Karlsson would be fantastic for the Rangers, but they have a lot of good, young pieces on the blue line that it may be worth waiting until next year when Karlsson would become a UFA.
