Rumor: Edmonton willing to move 16th overall pick for Cam Talbot
Fulltilt Rangers was one of the first sites to mention the possibility of Cam Talbot returning a 1st round pick and it looks like it could happen. The Edmonton Oilers who have been long rumored to be highly interested in Talbot are the ones in the mix.
Appears #Oilers may be prepared to give 16th overall pick if #Rangers are willing to part with Cam Talbot.

Pam Murray contributes to the Hockey News and Metro Ottawa. He and I have developed a decent relationship over the last couple of years and I know his sources are solid. Of course, Talbot straight up for the 16th overall pick may not get it done.
A package of Talbot and say Kevin Klein could fetch the pick and Ben Scrivens. Maybe the Oilers would be even willing to eat 500K to 1M of Scrivens 2.3M cap hit. Still, if the Oilers and Peter Chiarelli who saw Talbot up close while in Boston believe Talbot is their man, maybe it can be done straight up.
Face it, the Oilers are very young and in need of a goalie. Keeping the 16th pick when you are getting Connor McDavid does not make much sense. The Oilers are ready now to move forward with the group they have. It is time for them to turn picks into NHL ready players.
Cam Talbot could be just the right start.
