Stolarz Shuts Down Rangers In 1-0 Flyers Victory
The Rangers hadn’t played since their January 19th contest against the Boston Bruins, a game that the Rangers won 3-2. In their return from a nine-day hiatus, the Blueshirts put 38 shots toward the net of Anthony Stolarz, but the native of Edison, New Jersey was equal to the task and ended the modest Rangers winning streak at three.
"We're obviously not happy with the result, but I think we can keep building off of this."

Chris Kreider – Though he did not score in this one, the team’s leading goal scorer had five shots on net, some of which were saved heroically by the Flyers netminder, including this chance from between the circles.

Kevin Shattenkirk – The birthday boy stepped up his game in this one and recorded six shots on net. He was very noticeable on the ice and played, arguably, his best game of the season.
Brett Howden – The biggest blow of the night wasn’t the loss to their long-time rivals, but rather it was the possibility of losing Brett Howden for a significant amount of time. The rookie forward was injured in the first period of tonight’s contest after an offensive zone collision along the half-wall.
Quinn says that Howden is going to be out for at least "a little while" with his "knee issue." They'll know more tomorrow. #NYR lose, 1-0.

Howden got off to a roaring start to his Rangers career, but has recorded just two points since the beginning of December. If Howden is out of the lineup for more than a couple of games, it would not only give someone else a chance on David Quinn’s squad, but would also allow Howden to regroup and get himself ready for the final weeks of his first NHL season.
Alexandar Georgiev – Aside from the first 100 seconds of the game, during which the Flyers scores the only goal of the game, Alexandar Georgiev kept his team in the game. He didn’t have a ton of work, as Philadelphia only registered 19 shots on net, but the young Belarusian netminder did his job in giving the Rangers a chance to win the game.
.@VallysView was very impressed with Alexandar Georgiev's performance between the pipes for the @NYRangers tonight.#NYR pic.twitter.com/eIZeCrwZE0
