More teams in on McDonagh despite rumors of Erik Karlsson’s availability
Ryan McDonagh remains the biggest asset the Rangers have to accelerate a rebuild. This week we were made aware that the top 3 Atlantic teams (Tor, TB, Bos) were all in on him. 2 others teams were mentioned, believed to in the Western Conference. Now we can add another to the mix.
PANTHERS ON THE PROWL
Hearing that the Lightning aren’t the only Florida-based team kicking tires on Ryan McDonagh…the Panthers appear to be interested too.

If the Florida Panthers are indeed in on McDonagh, this is the perfect team to trade him too. Of course, McDonagh has to allow a trade to them. Florida currently holds a lottery pick, so any deal with them must involve their 1st round pick and a young roster player as well.
My bet is either Toronto or Tampa lands him.
Erik Karlsson On The Market is a GOOD THING
There is no disputing that Erik Karlsson is a better trade target on defense. Fact is this, ONLY ONE TEAM can get him, and that means anyone who lost out will feel forced to pay up more for McDonagh.
Even if Karlsson isn’t moved, the fact that he’s available will also make other GM’s feel pressured to get something done if they feel Karlsson’s price is too high.
