Tilted Ice Podcast: Coaching change, Kovalchuk and Playoff Predictions
Getty ImagesOn this week’s episode of the Tilted Ice Podcast, hosts Russell Hartman and Zak Chiger wrap up the season and begin discussing offseason plans for the New York Rangers. With Alain Vigneault recently being relieved of his duties, the coaching search begins and the guys discuss which coaching candidates would be best to be the new bench boss. Filip Pesan? Sheldon Keefe? Marco Sturm? Someone else?
The guys also discuss the rumors about Ilya Kovalchuk possibly joining the New York Rangers when free agency opens in July. Is Kovalchuk a target that the Rangers should really go after? Does this team need a 34 year old sniper? Could he bring leadership to a rebuilding team or are the locker room cancer rumors true? Would his contract be a bargain or look like an albatross? Would he still be able to produce a few years down the line?
The guys give their playoff predictions as well and they let you know who they think will make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. Finally, they give a quick review of the season and explain why the organization needed a year like this.
