Larry Brooks got the ball rolling in the wee hours of the morning, and now details are starting to emerge on the new deal for Marc Staal.

Marc Staal’s six-year extension with NYR expected to have AAV of about $5.7M. Heavy lifting on negotiations done; still finalizing paperwork

One more detail on Staal deal: full NTC for first 3 years and starts right away; then after 3 years it becomes a partial NTC

The Rangers and Marc Staal’s camp are actually meeting this morning to finalize the deal. A formal announcement should be coming soon.
