Vancouver GM claims Rangers very happy with their defense

So apparently this is the latest buzz on social media. Canucks GM, Jim Benning included the Rangers as a few teams very happy with their defense.

Benning: #NYR, #Preds, #stlblues, #NHLJets among ‘handful of teams’ happy w/ their defense. All the other teams looking to add D. #Canucks

Most people are reacting to this like Jeff Gorton and Alain Vigneault are happy with the way the defense is playing. I’m here to tell you, you’re reading it wrong. What’s being conveyed here is that they are happy with their personnel on the blue-line. No doubt many of you aren’t, but this is what that statement meant.

Now, at the time Benning found this out the Rangers may not have been looking to bolster their defense (probably at the the time the Etem trade was made). Things could change dramatically if they keep this play up in their own end come the deadline.
