New York Rangers forward Vitali Kravtsov is struggling to stay on the ice.

It has been an incredibly frustrating season for the former first-round draft pick in 2018, as he’s once again out of action after another injury.

With 7:35 remaining in the second, Kravtsov skated hard for a loose puck and lost his balance. As he went hard into the boards with the Dallas defender, he appeared to hit his head hard against the wall.

He left the game and was ruled out by the Rangers with an upper-body injury.

Head coach Gerard Gallant did not have much of an update afterwards calling him day-to-day.

This is now the third injury for Kravtsov on the season, and we’re just nine games in.

In the season opener against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he played only 88 seconds before falling into the boards with Victor Hedman finishing a check. He missed the next four games before getting back into the lineup.

The 22 year-old returned to action against the Columbus Blue Jackets in the team’s sixth game of the season. That’s the only contest he made it through unscathed. In the following match against the Colorado Avalanche, he suffered an arm injury that led to him being scratched against the New York Islanders on Wednesday.

Today, in just his fourth game of the season after being cleared on Friday, Kravtsov played just 5:09 due to this latest misfortune.

Kravtsov has no points on the year. He now has 4 points (2G – 2A) in 24 NHL games. All his points came during the 2020-21 campaign.
