Welcome back Hank…or not: Rangers fall to Bruins and refs? (BOS 4 v NYR 2)

Lucic is ready for the FIFA World Cup (NESN)

Let me start by saying this, the Rangers were not very good in the first period and Henrik Lundqvist looked rusty. However, how Toronto could possibly overturn the refs call on the ice after Milan Lucic kicked it in is mind numbing.

Bruins 4 vs. Rangers 2

Are the Bruins announcers for real? Could you be bigger homers? Well doesn’t that just beat all folks? The Refs weren’t done on the day either as they missed two boardings and a blatant high stick that drew blood on Ryan McDonagh.

All in all the Bruins wound up with a gift from Toronto and 2 power plays. Matter of fact, Tanner Glass was called for a head butt at the end of the game and will likely hear from the league.

Pretty fantastic, eh? Regardless, the Rangers settled down after a terrible 1st period that also saw a rusty Hank giving up a bad goal to Lucic again and a breakaway tally to Carl Soderberg. The Blueshirts would outscore Boston 2-1 the rest of the game.

Alain Vigneault didn’t have much to say about the way the game was officiated and told reporters to “call Toronto” as to why that first goal was allowed. The head coach confirmed Cam Talbot would be back in goal for tomorrow’s matinee against Washington.

Lastly, a real good sign was seeing Rick Nash score his 40th goal of the season. Now that he’s gotten that milestone out of the way, I expect to see more of the beast we’ve grown accustomed to this season.
