Wolf Pack Add Brenden Kotyk, Jeff Jakaitis
Chris Drury announced yesterday the additions of defenseman Brenden Kotyk and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis. Both players will be inserted into the lineup this weekend for Hartford in Charlotte.
This is the first call-up of the season for Brenden Kotyk. The 26-year-old signed an American Hockey League contract last summer with Hartford. He was cut in the Pack’s training camp and has spent the season with the Rangers ECHL team, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. In 51 games with Greenville, he has tallied seven goals and ten assists for 17 points with 41 penalty minutes. The tall defenseman progressed with the Swamp Rabbits and has earned a reward for it. Will Brenden Kotyk stick with Hartford for the remainder of the season? Time will tell. Hartford needs a strong defenseman for the remainder of the season.
Goalie Jeff Jakaitis signed a professional tryout agreement with Hartford. The 34-year-old has spent time with the South Carolina Stingrays, earning a record of 15-6-2. Hartford is looking for a reliable goaltender for the weekend against Charlotte as Chris Nell and Charles Willams were both struggling last weekend.
