Wolf Pack Weekly: AHL Training Camp In Full Swing
Ah, it’s almost that time of year when the regular season is right around the corner! The players are back competing for spots in New York or Hartford. The finalized roster is becoming closer with each cut by New York and Hartford.
Preseason Slates
Hartford’s first preseason outing was on Wednesday against the Springfield Thunderbirds. The roster was composed of returning and tryout players. Despite scoring early against Springfield, Hartford had a seesaw battle with the Thunderbirds winning the game, 4-2.
- Ryan Gropp and Jeff Taylor registered goals in the contest.
- Jake Elmer had the only assist in the game. He recorded the primary assist on Ryan Gropp’s tally.
- Tom McCollum stopped 7 of 9 shots.
- Francois Brassard stopped 10 of 11 shots.
The Wolf Pack will have preseason match ups against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday and Saturday to conclude the preseason action.
Wolf Pack Missing Signed Forward
In an interesting development, forward Harry Zolnierczyk is still not listed on the training camp roster for Hartford. He was also missing in Wednesday’s action against Springfield. The 32 year old veteran signed an AHL deal with the Wolf Pack on July 1st. He may potentially going overseas, or retiring. I will keep you updated on this development.
