Jones, 22, has registered 14 points in 22 games since joining the Hartford Wolf Pack after being sent down by the New York Rangers on December 3.
Prior to the move, Jones played in 16 games with the big club and registered his first NHL goal on the road against the Dallas Stars on October 29th. He had two points on the year and has a total of 8 points in 38 career NHL games all with the Rangers spanning three seasons.
The small but quick puck-moving defender is in the final year of his entry level contract that comes with an AAV of $925,000. Jones will be an RFA in July and his future with the organization is unclear at this time.
Ben Harpur was recently extended cementing his position as third-pair left defenseman with Braden Schneider. Libor Hajek is also still with the organization as the 7th defender but is also an RFA that is likely going to be playing elsewhere next season.
Jones was selected by the Blueshirts in the third-round (68th overall) of the 2019 Draft.
