Another “Do or Die” Game for the Rangers

The Rangers had their morning skate prior to game 6 tonight at Madison Square Garden. Those in attendance noticed an upbeat and cheerful group that had plenty of smiles.

If anyone takes that as a sign of overconfidence, you are totally wrong.

NY knows their backs are against the wall here. But they are feeling good about the way they played in game 5 and the momentum gained from it. To a man, they know that they need to bring it tonight.

Alain Vigneault also echoed the feelings on the ice in his post practice presser. He felt that this would be the best game of the entire series for both sides. AV also added that he was very confident in his team tonight.

Andrew Gross also captured this quote in his Ranger Rants:

“What we’re going to try and do is exactly what we tried to do prior to last game, put our attention and our concentration and our focus on what we want to do on the ice and try to apply that to every shift,” Vigneault added. “That’s what we’re going to try to do tonight.”

Marty St. Louis is expecting a very high emotional game today and believes that’s the way hockey needs to be played. His father and sister will also be in attendance, which makes this game even more emotional for #26.

Rick Nash is also aware that his lack of scoring in the playoffs is the “elephant in the room”. Somehow, Big Rick needs to break through this mental barrier he has created for himself and play with confidence. He needs to come alive and help the Rangers get to game 7.

Here’s the best of the rest from the NY RANGERS:
