Call The Doctor! NYR Practice Buzz 3/24/14

AHHH-CHOOOO! The sound that has Ranger Nation all nutty as star forwards Marty St. Louis and Derek Stepan may miss tonight’s contest at MSG. In what is already a tough match up, made tougher by a delay to honor Henrik Lundqvist for becoming the greatest regular season goalie in franchise history. The Rangers, already without John Moore, could be without Stepan and St. Louis.
Raphael Diaz has stepped in nicely to fill the shoes of John Moore who is reportedly feeling better in the wake of getting rocked in Columbus. JT Miller has already been called up and Derek Dorsett is on stand by. If I were a betting man (wink wink), I would say both men will play, most definitely one. There is just no way at this time of year these guys can take a break.
THE KING’S CEREMONY
Henrik Lundqvist will be honored tonight with his parents in town. Mike Richter and Eddie Giacomin are in the building to help salute #30. The Rangers and Madison Square Garden will pull out all the stops and it will be a ceremony to remember.
However, the impact to the game means a possible lengthy delay and a pissed off visiting team. Let’s hope the Rangers step up and get it done tonight as the standings show a win will distance them from the Caps by 5 and Wild Card chasers by 4 points.
