After a slow start post Olympic break, the Rangers look for their third straight win and their third win against the Hurricanes this season. Points become crucial at this time of the season, as the Rangers are only one point ahead of a Flyers team who have one game in hand.

Mr. 300

Let’s again, congratulate Henrik Lundqvist on his 300th win. He is now one away from tying Mike Richter for most wins by a New York Ranger goaltender. He also tied Eddie Giacomin in team shutouts with number 49 and is one away from the team record!

Rangers newest acquisition Martin St. Louis impresses, but that can only do so much if he doesn’t produce on the score sheet. Yes, he does the little things like aggressive forechecking and creates scoring opportunities, but he was also brought in to score goals like the superstar hockey player he is. Tonight, he may break out of his shell for New York.

Ryan McDonagh continues to impress in a huge breakout season. With having zero points in February, he starts March on the right foot..err…skate. He has five points in his last four games, including three goals and two assists. One goal being on the powerplay and two shorthanded in two straight games.

FullTilt Forecast

With the Rangers starting to hit their stride and getting hungrier for points in the standings, look for them to battle hard for these two points. Ryan McDonagh gets two more points as he continues his point streak in a 5-2 Rangers win.
