Rangers face Capitals with a chance to vault into first in Metro (NYR at WSH 8PM)
Opportunity is knocking for the NY Rangers to take advantage of one of those four games in hand on the Islanders. Tonight in enemy territory the Blueshirts take on a strong Caps team with a chance to jump into first in the Metro Division.

Via BlueshirtsUnited: Tonight’s game is the second of four meetings between the Rangers and Capitals this season, and the first of two meetings between the two teams in Washington. The Rangers have posted a 1-0-0 record (1-0-0 at home, 0-0-0 on the road) against the Capitals, following a 4-2 win on Dec. 23 at Madison Square Garden. Rick Nash tallied his first hat trick as a Ranger in the contest, while Derick Brassard recorded three assists and Mats Zuccarello notched two assists. Following tonight’s game, the Rangers and Capitals face off again on the following dates: Mar. 29 (at MSG), Apr. 11 (at Washington).
