Rangers look to keep rolling in Montreal (NYR at MTL 7PM)

NYR- MTLThe Rangers and Canadiens square off in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Final. Both team’s are winners of their last 3 games setting up a big time battle tonight in Montreal.

Anthony Duclair- Not surprising but the kid from Quebec will return to the lineup tonight after being scratched in the last two. We know he has the skills to play on the big club, but tonight he needs to show he can perform under pressure with all his family and friends watching him. Expect the Montreal fans to give him a warm reception.

Ryan McDonagh- We all know how players like to stick it to their former organizations, but if anything Ryan probably wants to send the Habs a fruit basket as his career took off in NY. He notched his 1st two points of the season last game (vs. NJ), we expect more tonight.

Marty St. Louis- This is a gut feel here, but I expect a multi point performance in MSL’s hometown.

Eye on the Enemy:

Carey Price (AP Photo/The Canadian Press, Ryan Remiorz)

Carey Price- He hasn’t been confirmed yet, but all signs point to Montreal’s number one in net. Like Lundqvist he has been in net for 3 straight wins and will look to stick it to the team that took him out (Kreider was tripped) last season.

Alex Galchenyuk- For all the hype surrounding Max Pacioretty and PK Subban, I want you all to remember this kid’s name. The 20 year old forward has 7 points in 7 games and is a future stud (especially for you fantasy hockey poolers).

Brandon Prust or any Habs with a chip on their shoulder- One name probably still brings Montreal’s blood to a boil – Chris Kreider. Yes, this is your daily reminder why Tanner Glass has value for the Blueshirts.

FullTilt Forecast:

My record now stands at 5-2 on the season. However, this match up has me perplexed.

The New York Rangers are clicking right now, but so are the Canadiens. Just like the last game versus NJ, the Blueshirts have to keep Montreal off the power play. The good news is, if Montreal will be looking to go after Kreider, NY could be on the PP often.

This one is going to be close, possibly OT or shootout, but I feel MSL will lead the Rangers to victory with a 1 goal and 2 assists. Rangers 3 v. Canadiens 2.
