Rangers look to keep momentum from Flyers game after Sabres contest postponed to February 20th. In come the Montreal Canadiens, a much stiffer test than lowly Buffalo.

NOTES:

RANGERS TO WATCH

Marty St. Louis (Getty)

1. Martin St. Louis – Marty always raises his game versus his favorite childhood team. I expect Marty to light the lamp – high glove side on Tokarski tonight.

2. Anthony Duclair – Another Quebec native that should have a little bit of extra bounce in his step.

3. Tanner Glass – Odd name, I get it. Here’s the deal, last time these 2 teams met, it was feisty. Brandon Prust and Kevin Klein went at it. Dale Weise was also running around a bit. Glass is slowly going to find himself in a platoon situation with Jesper Fast, it’s inevitable. Tonight, he needs to provide JAM. Now you can all go have fun with that.

EYE ON THE ENEMY

1. Dustin Tokarski – When Carey Price went down, the NYR fanbase thought they’d roll over the Habs. He didn’t let that happen and he won’t be easy tonight. He’s 3-1 with a ridiculous 1.78 GAA and .937 save %.

2. PK Subban – Always amped to play at MSG, the Rangers needs to stay out of the box to avoid that heavy shot having a field day. NY will also attack his side with speed and could cause those lazy hooking penalties he’s known for.

3. Brendan Gallagher – A feisty little player that can buzz around the ice and make you go batty. He’s coming off a 2 assist performance in his last game and looks poised to put one in the net.

FULLTILT FORECAST

Under .500 still at 9-10. The Canadiens are a real good hockey team, which hopefully means the Rangers will be up to the challenge.

I look for a really solid back and forth contest here with the Rangers edging the Canadiens on specialty teams.
